Panasonic’s Electronic Materials Prove Durable In Space

Panasonic Industry recently concluded exposure experiments of its circuit board materials at the International Space Station (ISS), confirming their high quality and durability in the harsh space environment. The materials were tested under conditions of microgravity, vacuum, cosmic radiation, and extreme temperatures. After a three-month exposure, the materials were returned and inspected by NASA and JAXA, showing no changes in appearance, electrical characteristics, or chemical composition. Further evaluations on thermal properties and structural observations are planned. This research supports advancements in high-speed and non-ground-level communication technologies, crucial for 6G networks and applications like space exploration and High-Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS). Tested materials include the MEGTRON, FELIOS, LEXCM GX, XPEDION, and HIPER V series.

Ultra Wide and Long Distance Detection Type PIR Motion Sensor

Panasonic has expanded its EKMB and EKMC Series with the introduction of new Ultra Wide and Long Distance Detection Type PIR Motion Sensors. These compact sensors are capable of detecting movement up to a height of 49 feet with a field of view of 91.6° x 45.4°, and they provide 188 detection zones for enhanced radial movement detection, minimizing blind spots. This makes them particularly suitable for high-ceiling installations such as walkways and street lighting. The sensors are easy to install and can be integrated into existing lighting systems, offering both digital and analog outputs.

ERA-2V Series Thin Film Chip Resistors

Panasonic has enhanced its ERA-xV Resistors Product line with the new ERA-2V Series Thin Film Chip Resistors, tailored for extremely hazardous environments. These resistors are uniquely designed with a gold inner terminal and a soft outer terminal, offering high reliability and stability under conditions of high temperature and humidity. They feature an operating temperature range of -55°C to +155°C and are capable of enduring a load life of 10,000 hours at 85°C, effectively resisting heat shock, corrosion, and ESD. The ERA-2V Series is AEC-Q200 qualified, meeting stringent industry quality standards, and complies with multiple global standards, including RoHS and REACH. Ideal for applications in automotive, energy, measurement equipment, and factory automation, these resistors offer high accuracy, performance, and anti-sulfuration properties, ensuring dependable performance in critical conditions.

V Series (LC Connector Type) Active Optical Connectors

Panasonic introduces the V Series LC Connector Type Active Optical Connectors, capable of high-speed optical transmission ranging from 20 Mbps to 8 Gbps. This series features a Duplex-LC Connector and a Plug-To-LC Connector Type, ideal for both intra-device and inter-device connections. The new connectors offer enhancements over previous models by providing long-distance transmission capabilities while maintaining high speed, noise immunity, and electrical isolation, making them a robust solution for a variety of connectivity needs.

Panasonic has introduced its latest Surface Mount Specialty Conductive Polymer Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors, designed for high-temperature applications that demand high endurance and large capacitance. These capacitors are compact, with heights ranging from 2.0mm to 2.3mm, and feature ultra-low ESR of 3mΩ. The EEF-TX Series offers exceptional endurance with a rating of 135℃ for 5,500 hours at a 2.0mm height, while the EEF-JZ/KZ/TZ Series provides options like 2V/560µF and 2.5V/470µF at a 2.3mm height.

DS-P Series General Power Relays

The DS-P Series General Power Relays now include new models with a 1 coil latching type, enhancing their lineup. These compact relays measure 11mm wide, 20.2mm long, and 10.5mm high.
